Subsurface Groundwater Recharge

Artificial groundwater recharge is the planned infiltration of effluents from sanitation systems (e.g. [8199-waste stabilisation ponds], [8257-surface], [8259-horizontal flow] or [8261-vertical flow constructed wetlands]), stormwater or surface runoff into the aquifer in order to increase the natural replenishment of groundwater resources.
