BIX Capital is an investment vehicle initiated by Shell Foundation, Cardano Development and Fount. It provides debt financing to SMEs through an innovative result-based finance structure creating access to high impact products such as cookstoves or water purification systems for low-income households at the Base of the Pyramid mainly in sub-Saharan Africa.
BIX provides finance in the value chain upfront in exchange for a preferential claim on the future impact certificate revenue (carbon credits) to redeem the funding.
